Seems like Kris Humphries’ plan to further prolong his marriage to Kim Kardashian is starting to unravel.

TMZ reported Friday that a judge set a court hearing for divorce proceedings for May 6.

This does not fare well for Humphries, who has made every effort to fight the proceedings, requesting that the marriage be annulled on the grounds of fraud. Humphries also lost one of his lawyers last week. Court documents show that attorney Marshall Waller submitted a request to be removed from the case citing an “irremediable breakdown of the attorney-client relationship.”

Kardashian, on the other hand, is hoping this can finally get rid of any remnants of the whirlwind romance, televised lavish wedding, and subsequent 72-day marriage to the hoops star. Given that she’s pregnant with her first child with rapper and new beau, Kanye West, the reality show star is all too ready to put an end to any involvement with Humphries before she gives birth later this year.

In the midst of this, there is actually still time to settle the case before it goes to trial. The judge also ordered both parties to appear April 12 in a final attempt to resolve any differences.

We think it would be in Kris’ best interest to be prepared to resolve this sooner rather than later. Don’t you think he’s dragged this out long enough?
