Things were all dandelions and lollipops between J.Cole and Diggy Simmons a few months back, but it looks like the two hip hop artists are taking a stroll down rap beef lane and picking up where they left off. SMH.
Earlier this year, young artist Diggy Simmons, released a diss track towards J.Cole titled “What You Say” after he heard a track J.Cole made in 2010 where he claimed to get with Diggy’s sister, Vanessa, in college. Oh no… not the sister. Of course, lil’ bro Diggy took one for the #FAM and surprisingly enough, J.Cole never brought their feud up… until now. (Of course, wait it out a few months, let his words marinate and THEN fire shots).
Just this past weekend, while performing with Kendrick Lamar in Charlotte during BET’s Music Matters tour, he hit Diggy with a freestyle:
‘Picture me hating on a young ni–a with talent
Album flopped, but it’s cool, he caked out on his allowance…’
As if two artists wasn’t enough in this ridiculous feud, Tyrese jumped in to defend Diggy and tweeted: ” Sh-t ain’t gonna fly no more…J Cole…Diggy is family…Sh-t ain’t flying! Ps..I’m grown….”
Young Dig wasn’t about to just leave it at that, yesterday morning on The Breakfast Club radio show, he too spit a freestyle aimed at J.Cole. This is some grown man beef, so he took it to that next level — no cursing because that’s how real it got:
Don’t know how any grown rapper would consider me a subject
And I ain’t even got my first Benz sitting on dubs yet
I guess I rattled you, snaggletooth
You know better
Thought J stood for Jermaine, not Jet Setter
You seen me and shook my hand, coppin’ pleas in person
Now you whack, less than a man, mention me in verses.
You used to have dreams of my big sister kissin’ ya
now it’s nightmares of a lil’ brotha dissin’ ya.
Sneak disses and jabs, I don’t really see the benefit
But I guess you lame enough, probably keep you relevant
Maybe you should have signed with me, instead of Mr. Carter
Did we mention that he wrapped it up with:
‘This verse may as well be a hearse, Killed you and ain’t even curse, n-gga’.
Snaps for Diggy. While this is all too entertaining, if you sit back and just look at the picture: Is a grown man really bringing back old feud with a 17 year old? and did a 17 year old just hold it down with curse-free diss freestyle to a grown man? And then there’s Tyrese… just kidding, we love you and your sexy ways.
Where is Uncle Rush and Rev Run throughout all this madness…
