Elizabeth Berkley just loves being a mom.

The "Saved By the Bell" and "Showgirls" star gave birth to her first child, Sky, just six weeks ago on July 20th with husband Greg Lauren.

Us Weekly caught up with the Berkley, 40, at the grand opening of the Dylan’s Candy Bar’s West Hollywood location on Friday night.  The new mom told Us that she was already missing baby Sky after being away from him for only  a few

"I'm missing [Sky] right now, I'm going through separation anxiety," Berkley told Us.  “In general, though, motherhood has been amazing and magical.  I have a lot of friends who have little ones and I love their kids, but until you have your own, it's like you can't quite grasp the intensity of the love, the depth of it…it's so special."

Still smitten with her new role as mother, Berkley informed Us that everything else in her life has been placed on the back burner.

"I'm really savoring this time," said Berkley.  "I have a lot of work I will be doing, but I'm just enjoying the focus of where I should be.  You can't get this moment back; you know what I mean?  That's why I'm savoring it."

Berkley was most recently seen in the Hallmark Channel’s original movie "Lucky Christmas".  She married artist and occasional actor Greg Lauren in 2003.
