Full Platter:

After a set, many thought that Serena Williams taking home a fourth United States Open title was a given.

Serena says of her victory:

"Oh my god,"..."I honestly can't believe I won. I really was preparing my runner-up speech, because I thought, 'Man, she's playing so great.'"

Serena also spoke on her recent downs:

"I don't think about the downs too much," she said. "I hope I never think about them as my life continues. But I really think a champion is defined not by their wins but by how they can recover when they fall.

"I have fallen several times. Each time I just get up and I dust myself off and I pray and I'm able to do better or I'm able to get back to the level that I want to be on."

Serena was paired with the world's Number One Ranked Tennis Player, Victoria Azarenka, but Williams held her own with her tough first-strike pressure.

Victoria Azarenka was two points from winning when Serena hit a huge strike taking home te victory. This victory is Serena Williams's fourth U.S. Open crown.

Serena Williams is fourth ranked in the world and has had a summer of success including singles and doubles at the Wimbledon and at the Summer Olympics.

The accomplishment of becoming the first women to claim a victory in both the United States Open and Wimbledon has not been done since 2002 (when Serena did it).

Serena has lot to celebrate these days. The title is Serena's 15th overall major.
