Small Bite: Lifetime pulls out the heavy weights for remake of classic film. #Can’tWait!

Full Platter:

Queen Latifah is set to star in the remake of the classic motion picture 'Steel Magnolias'. The film, originally released in 1989, was the heart-wrenching story of a woman (Sally Fields), her eclectic group of girlfriends and her sick daughter Shelby (Julia Roberts).

Lifetime is set to release the film later this year and the remake comes with some all-star hitters honey! The cast includes the A-list likes of actresses Jill Scott, Phylicia Rashad, and Alfre Woodard.

It is reported that Lifetime entertainment had this to say about the cast and film:

“The caliber of talent associated with this film is astounding and falls in line with our strategy to make Lifetime a first stop for the industry’s best both in front of and behind the camera. Queen Latifah, Phylicia, Alfre, Jill, Adepero, and Condola are some of the most celebrated women in music, film, television, and stage — and we could not be more thrilled and honored for them to bring Robert Harling’s poignant story about the strength of women to a whole new generation."

We don't know about y'all but we are going to be front and center for this premiere! What do you all think of this remake? Leave your comments below. For the full article click here.
