It seems Nicki Minaj and Lil' Kim aren't the only divas duking it out in the music industry. Just when we thought the somewhat silent beef between Madonna and Lady Gaga sort of brushed over, their drama has just hit a new level. New footage has been leaked showing Madonna rehearsing for her upcoming world tour, but she's not just rehearsing her own songs, she's actually covering Gaga's "Born This Way" hit single. PAUSE.
There's no doubt that Gaga's eccentric style and flare has been compared with the Material Girl's legacy, but when she released "Born This Way" in 2011, we were all wondering why it sounded SO familiar...Oh that's right, because Madonna had a very similar beat and lyrical message in her 1989 hit "Express Yourself." In response to the comparison, Madonna reportedly told Newsweek back in January of this year: " I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song. I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was … interesting."
In the footage, Madonna is seen rehearsing "Express Yourself" and then the beat fades into the Queen Monster's "Born This Way," she then closes the section with lyrics from her 2008 album Hard Candy and sings "She's not me... she's not me...she's not me."

*Sigh* Maybe there's only enough room for one coned bra diva in this world. What do you all think? Did Madonna force it with her cover of "Born This Way"? Is she bringing it to a whole new level, or is this a message to all new artists to respect the legends before you?
